An Introduction

Hello. Welcome to my blog shaped writing space.

For the purpose of privacy, I will go by Ms. G. I am about to embark on my first teaching adventure. I will be teaching English Composition to freshman university students within the next week. I have never taught in my own classroom before. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant to an English professor as an undergrad. My mentor implies that my rather unique and, to be frank, chaotic experience working with freshman at a hippie school will be a guiding note in my observations.

My inspiration for this blog came from my experience attending faculty workshops. While I am an instructor, I am still a graduate student on the verge of my Masters. My students may question my age, especially because I am young even for a graduate student. I played the "Guess teacher's age" game with tutoring clients over the summer. (Expect a rant about blanket assumptions about Millennials in the near future.)

So, as a first post goes, this isn't terribly substantial. I told myself I was going to open this today. One step at a time!
